Jesus, who understood his friends.

Despite Peter’s deep love you knew the struggles he would face to remain true to your gospel.

Like Peter, our courage can turn to cowardice when demands are made that challenge our safety and security.

Turn and look at us, like you did with Peter, so we can see your love more clearly and move beyond our tears towards a reconciliation, a healing.

Amen
