Luke 10: 25-37 "The Good Samaritan"
A prayer, in the form of a collect, based on a bible reading for today.
A collect based on Luke 10: 25-37 (Click here to read the passage)
Jesus, you lived in each moment, dwelling in the eternal now.
As we journey through life you teach that it is the places we stop, the people we connect with, and the sacrifices we make, which reveal who we truly are.
Give us the compassion, for self and others, to keep returning to those places and people necessary for healing and reconciliation.
For then we will discover that the possibility of eternal life is always present.
Amen.
The phrase “Eternal Now” has various connotations for different people. I use the phrase in a manner similar to that described by Richard Rohr in this article.
