John 12: 1-11 “Mary Anoints Jesus”
Christ, who sits at our table and eats with us.
Mary recognised who you were, pouring nard onto your feet and wiping them with her hair. She saw that within each ordinary moment there lies, for all who can see, true beauty and an obligation for extravagance.
Too often we allow fear and avarice to lead us away from indulgence and reverence, settling instead for a life of faith performed with a dull functionality.
Open our hearts on this new day so, like Mary, we can celebrate the presence of God in our midst and our houses may be filled with the fragrance of perfume
