John 11: 28-44 “Jesus Wept”

Christ of comfort and compassion,

You meet us in our despair and call for us to ‘come’ and share our burdens, giving us confidence that it is never too late for healing and resurrection.

At those moments in our day when we lose faith, distraught that it has all been left too long, that the stench of the past is too unpleasant, and the stone is better left where it is,

Let us hear your footsteps, hear your voice, see your tears, and know that you love us and we too may be unbound and arise to witness the miracle of a new day.
