John 20.1-18 “I have seen the Lord”

Jesus Christ, Risen from the dead! Truly He is risen!

Peter, Mary, and the disciple Jesus loved, went to the tomb and discovered a radiant and joyous absence. Out of their confusion and unknowing arose a belief that you had risen and come to new life.

On this Easter Day you call each one of us by name, but you tell us not to remain in the garden, holding on tightly to the truth of this miracle. You tell us to go, tell our brothers and sisters, and let the whole world know you have risen from the dead.

You want us to make your resurrection known throughout the world; in Gaza, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, and all other places of suffering. To let all people know that death will never win, that love will conquer and always rise, always, RISE.
