Luke 4:14-30 "Open arms and words"
A prayer, in the form of a collect, based on a bible reading from today's lectionary
A collect based on Luke 4: 14-30
Christ of open arms and words,
Those who heard you went from amazement at your gracious words to a murderous rage,
Because the freedom, recovery, release, and good news you’d offered them was available to everyone.
Yours is a gospel that perishes within us if we try to possess it.
When we experience your love within us, come and open our hearts so we can share it abundantly with the least of our brothers and sisters.
Amen.

What a powerfull choice of words. The balance tipped over between perish and possess. Wonderfull.
